This RESET we’re talking about is not finding a _________NORMAL – This is about finding a __________________ NORMAL - So we’re going to look at what Jesus says are the default settings of the church ….
1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs (or unmistakable), being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Theophilus is a ___________ – his name means “___________________”
The book of Luke is about what Jesus ________________ to do. Acts is about what Jesus _________________________ to do
the first command he gave to the church ----- “______________________________________________..”
“I would rather you do _____________________________—than to do something without the _______________________________”
1. Instead of doing ___________________ things for God – We need to ask the Holy Spirit to do _________ things through us
The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the conduit of the Holy Spirit’s activity in our world. It’s the default setting of who we are --- and that’s why Jesus said – I would rather you do nothing – than to do something without the Spirit
